The club holds meetings or events each month, visiting Riverland gardens, taking day trips to places like the Barossa, having plant swaps and soup days in Winter, as well as enjoying a Christmas celebration.
Roses brighten many a town and rural property in South Australia’s Riverland, home to The Rose Society of South Australia’s Chaffey Rose Club. “Base Camp” for the club is the historic Olivewood Historical Homestead at Renmark. While most members live in and around Renmark, Berri, Loxton and Paringa, they welcome members from the Riverina in NSW, Sunraysia in north eastern Victoria, and of course, from their immediate area.
The late and indomitable David Ruston OAM, famous for incorporating and promoting roses in floral design and revered for it internationally, was fundamental to the formation and success of this club.
