Patron, Government House, Adelaide
Government House in Adelaide has had a long association with the Rose Society of South Australia and in 1962 the then Governor, His Excellency Lieutenant-General Sir Edric Bastyan and his wife Lady Bastyan, became joint patrons.
During the tenure of the Hon Hieu Van Le AC, and Mrs Lan Le, a Governor’s Rose Garden was established in the grounds of Government House with the generous support and cooperation of The Rose Society of South Australia. The garden features a stand of roses commemorating each Governor, with those of living Governors chosen by them.
Now, as Patron, Mr Bunten, and his wife Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, have great pleasure in continuing this long association. They congratulate members of the Rose Society on their dedication and enthusiasm for improving roses and growing the appreciation of this beautiful flower which thrives so wonderfully in our dry, hot Mediterranean climate.
