Sandy stopped counting the number of roses in her garden when the different cultivars tipped over 600. Bush, climbing, weeping, heritage, miniatures and standards flourish in her Tumby Bay garden. She has had many esteemed visitors. The great rosarian, the late David Ruston OAM and AFL legend and rosarian Kevin Sheedy have been among them.

Sandy joined The Rose Society of South Australia in the early 1990s and was an inaugural member of ROE. She and other members hosted guests, some from Adelaide and representing the broader Society, at a 20th anniversary celebration of the club in 2021.
